Welburn and Crambeck Village Hall is situated in the heart of the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. As nature comes under increasing pressure, protecting such areas becomes ever more important. From initial construction to future plans, our mission is to have the minimum impact possible on the environment.
If this sounds like a message you care about personally or would like associated with your group or business then this could be the perfect venue for you.

Construction
The village hall was newly built with a timber frame construction in 2007. It incorporates many renewable technologies to reduce running costs and minimise the carbon footprint of the building and its impact on the environment. The hall’s architect was commended for her work on the hall in the Best Sustainable Project category in the 2009 North & East Yorkshire LABC Building Excellence Awards.
- The village hall has a recycled aluminium roof, which is highly insulated with materials made from recycled newsprint.
- The building is fitted with triple-glazed windows and sun pipes to further improve the insulation and ensure good natural lighting and ventilation.
- Sustainably sourced timber cladding was included in the construction of the building.
- Internal finishes are also made from recycled materials.
